Every FOAM piece passes through one set of hands before it reaches yours. Melita makes each necklace individually — no molds, no production line, no two cords tied quite the same way.
One piece at a time
There is no factory behind FOAM. Melita selects the pearl, the shell, the glass, and sets each on cord by hand, the way it has been done for longer than any of us have been alive. The tension of the knot, the placement of a bead — small decisions repeated, but never identical.
Bare cord, bare skin
FOAM is deliberately unfinished in the way the sea is unfinished — raw materials, visible cord, nothing plated to hide what it is. It is jewellery meant to be worn against skin, not behind glass.
The oldest kind of power, made new
We think of Melita's work less as production and more as continuation — of a way of making that predates the idea of a "collection" at all. When you tie one of her pieces on, you are wearing her hands as much as her materials.
