Every FELUS bag is made of raffia, leather, wood — and time. Each was chosen deliberately, and each does something the others cannot.

Raffia. Raffia comes from the leaves of the raffia palm, which grows almost nowhere in the world as well as it grows in Madagascar. The fibres are harvested by hand, dried in the sun, and sorted by length and strength before a single strand is woven. Raffia is what gives an ION its character — light enough to carry all day, strong enough to carry a weekend, with a texture that softens and deepens the longer you live with it. No two harvests are identical, which is one reason no two FELUS bags are identical.

Leather. The base of every ION is genuine leather from Madagascar, cut and added where the bag is woven — so the bag stands on the same ground it came from. In Athens, each piece receives its die-cut Φ leather charm, and the Large its leather drawstrings. We use leather because raffia deserves a partner that ages the way it does — gradually, and for the better.

Wood. The ION's rigid circular handle is wood, wrapped by hand in raffia — architectural enough to hold its form, warm and light enough to carry all day.

Hardware. Where a bag needs metal, we use as little of it as possible and choose pieces that will outlast the trend cycle entirely. Nothing plated that will flake, nothing decorative that serves no purpose.
