What is FELUS?
FELUS is a house of handwoven raffia bags, made in Madagascar and finished in Greece. The name carries five generations of one family's work in fashion and craft, and every piece is designed to feel singular rather than mass-produced.
What is raffia?
Raffia is a natural fibre harvested from the leaves of the raffia palm, dried by hand and woven into structure. It is lightweight, breathable, and durable — one of the oldest textile fibres still made almost entirely without industry.
How long does a bag take to make?
Each FELUS bag takes around forty hours to weave by hand, start to finish, by a single artisan, before it is finished in Greece and given its serial number.
What does "limited edition" mean at FELUS?
It means exactly what it says: 400 numbered editions per design, and no more made once they are gone. Each bag carries a serial number recording exactly where it sits in that run.
How do I care for a raffia bag?
Keep it dry, out of direct sun, and store it stuffed lightly with tissue paper in a breathable dust bag. Clean it with a dry brush or a barely damp cloth — never soak it.
Can a raffia bag be worn outside of summer?
Yes. Raffia works as a neutral material year-round — paired with knits and darker tones, it carries just as naturally into autumn as it does into a summer wardrobe.
